Bihar Cricket Association President Harsh Vardhan congratulated Vaibhav Sooryavanshi following his selection in the India A squad for the upcoming one-day tri-series in Sri Lanka. The BCCI Men’s Selection Committee announced the squad on May 15 for the tournament featuring India A, Sri Lanka A, and Afghanistan A, scheduled to be held in June 2026.

Sooryavanshi earned his place after impressive performances in IPL 2026 and has developed a reputation as one of the country’s leading young batting talents. Representing Bihar in domestic cricket, he has impressed fans nationwide while playing for the Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2026. He has scored 440 runs in 11 innings, maintaining an average of 40 and a strike rate of 236, including 40 sixes and 38 fours.

The young batter’s fearless approach and consistent performances, highlighted by a sensational century, have received acclaim from the cricketing community.

BCA President Harsh Vardhan said, “Heartiest congratulations to Vaibhav Sooryavanshi on his selection in the India A squad. This is a proud achievement not only for him but also for Bihar cricket. The way Vaibhav has performed at different levels, including the IPL, clearly shows that players from Bihar are shining on big stages. His performances reflect the talent and potential that exists in the state.”

Last month, Vardhan also praised pacer Saqib Hussain after his impressive IPL debut for Sunrisers Hyderabad, where he took four wickets against Rajasthan Royals.

BCA officials view these achievements as positive signs for Bihar cricket, which they believe will encourage more young players in the state to pursue professional cricket with confidence and determination.
