Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter's Dhadak is just around the corner, and the buzz is just getting louder. The songs, Zingaat, and Dhadak title track and the trailer have raised a feverish amount of hype. And now, a new song, Pehli Baar, has just hit the web.
The song encapsulates a sweet romance between the characters Madhukar and Parthavi. Pehli Baar hows how besotted Madhukar is with Parthavi, and she enjoys playing hard to get.
The song is melodious and has been composed by Ajay-Atul, who had crafted magic with the original film's background score, Sairat. The song is a remake of Yad Lagla from the Marathi film.
Dhadak is the official remake of the Marathi blockbuster, Sairat, which revolved around the 'forbidden' love between two people from different classes of society - Archana, the daughter of an influential local politician, and Prashant, the son of a fisherman.
Of course, remaking such a successful film is not easy, and comes with its share of problems. Though the trailer was mostly well-received, people couldn't resist drawing comparisons to the original film.
In an exclusive interview to Sushant Mehta, India Today Television, Janhvi, who is making her Bollywood debut with Dhadak said, "I was blown away by Sairat. I'm well-aware that we can't touch upon something as pure as that. It's just such a universal subject, and it can be recreated and represented in so many ways. Dhadak is our tribute to Sairat."
Dhadak will release on July 20, and is directed by Shashank Khaitan.
