We are now with the world trend and the daily infection rate also keep on increasing and the people are living in fear. This trend must be controlled and govt, health authorities and the people must take all precautions to escape from this deadly virus infection

80% of the doctors died in U.K.were Asians or Blacks Tuesday, 02 February 2021 11:48 AM

In Britain about 30 doctors have died of covid so far but nearly 25 of them are either Asians or Blacks. Asian and Black doctors were deliberately put on frontline while the whites stayed safely behind. But as usual British government denies racism as the reason.

I live in the UK. The healthcare service is the most loved government service by the people. Many migrant doctors work here but the allegation that non-white doctors are put at risk is absolutely false and misleading !!!!

Sanjaya Bandara Tuesday, 02 February 2021 12:29 PM

As far as I know , most of the doctors working in the UL are Asians or Africans. The caucasians prefer other jobs( heavy vehicle drivers) due to litigation and stress.

These are real heroes, putting their lives at risk in trying to save people from ill-health. Our salutations to these Covid warriors and may this doctor be in peace.

He is a brave young man given his life for the country. May his soul rest in peace.

loss of a young invaluable life. Deepest sympathies to the family. Most people think that young people do not die from Corona and this shows the vulnerability of young people. Everybody please stay safe. This disease can be managed if we are all careful.

Very sad news. This doctor would be alive if he were vaccinated. But paradoxically our rulers were keen to promote 'Dammika paniya'

Jagguy Tuesday, 02 February 2021 01:39 PM

Serving at the IDH, he defended and shielded us from the virus. Brave Dr, we will remember you as the sun goes down every day for giving your today for our tomorrow. Why could not the authorities order the vaccines and start the vaccination earlier.... For them staying in power is more important than the valuable lives of these young and brave Sri Lankans.....

RIP Dr... But it is ok to throw lavish birthday parties at 5* hotels and invite the powers be to flout all the Covid rules. It is also believed Covid is scared of those living in posh areas.

Kumaran, Wattala Tuesday, 02 February 2021 02:34 PM

Very unfortunate. This young doctor has sacrificed his life for the sake of the sick. Let him be remembered as a martyr. Hats off to all the health officers who are in the frontline and fight this panademic.

Particularly South Asians and Africans go to frontlines by their Choice. B'coz. They want to prove themselves in the Western World for many reasons. Also they are Honest, Sincere, Brave in their professions, most of all they do this for the benefits and future of their families who live with them and homes Far-Away. Hope this will answer some of the Questions.

During the Pandemic, the medical staff that includes Nursing and related professions are the front line warriors. They should have the full PPE to protect them.In UK the Government did fail to do so thereby lots of staff belonging to the BAME Group was sacrificed. Time to vaccinate these staff fully.

CITIZEN Tuesday, 02 February 2021 04:35 PM
