After a thrilling 5-match T20I series that saw India clinch the win early with three back-to-back wins only for New Zealand to win the last two games, it's time to move on to the 50-over format.

It will be India's first five-match ODI series since the 2018/19 Australia tour of India, when the visitors won 3-2.

The first of five ODIs at Eden Park is scheduled for Wednesday, November 4. It also marks the return of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, who, since their retirement from T20Is and Tests, now only feature in this format. Both of them featured in the three-match home series against the West Indies, where Rohit scored 225 runs and Kohli scored his 55th ODI ton with an unbeaten 139.

Shubman Gill leads India in the first three ODIs before Shreyas Iyer takes over for the last two, when wicketkeeper Kumar Kushagra joins the group. Yashasvi Jaiswal and Jasprit Bumrah are only in the Test squad.
