Indogulf Cropsciences Limited has published the transcript of its conference call with analysts and investors. The call was held on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, to discuss the company's un-audited standalone and consolidated financial results for the first quarter of FY2026-27.
The disclosure was made pursuant to Regulation 30 and Regulation 46(2)(oa) read with Schedule III Part A of Para A of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015 ("LODR"). The company submitted the transcript to the listing operation departments of both the BSE Limited and the National Stock Exchange of India Limited.
Sakshi Jain, Company Secretary and Compliance Officer of Indogulf Cropsciences, signed the communication on behalf of the company. The filing serves as a record for the exchanges and provides stakeholders access to the management's detailed commentary on the recent quarterly performance.
During the call, management provided specific figures regarding the company's financial performance for Q1FY27. Consolidated revenue from operations stood at ₹ 168.5 crore, an 11% year-over-year decline from ₹ 189.4 crore in Q1FY26. However, revenue increased by approximately 12% quarter-on-quarter from ₹ 150.8 crore in Q4FY26.
Gross margins improved significantly to 28% from 22% in the previous year, driven by better cost and product mix. EBITDA margins also expanded to 5.7% from 5.2%, although absolute EBITDA declined slightly to ₹ 9.6 crore from ₹ 9.9 crore. Profit after tax fell to ₹ 2.4 crore from ₹ 3.9 crore in Q1FY26.
Managing Director Sanjay Aggarwal attributed the top-line pressure to delayed and uneven southwest monsoons, which impacted Kharif sowing and crop protection application timings. Capacity utilization improved to 70% in Q1FY27 compared to 52% in FY26. Captive consumption of technicals rose to 34%, up from 22% earlier, providing cost competitiveness.
The company highlighted progress in international expansion, with new registrations in Taiwan, Sri Lanka, and Saudi Arabia. Exports contributed 13% of revenue, while B2C and B2B channels accounted for 47% and 40% respectively.
Historical Stock Returns for Indogulf Cropsciences
How might the delayed southwest monsoon impact Indogulf Cropsciences' revenue trajectory in Q2FY27 as Kharif sowing normalizes?
What is the expected timeline for new product registrations in Taiwan, Sri Lanka, and Saudi Arabia to contribute meaningfully to export revenues?
Can the improved gross margin of 28% be sustained in subsequent quarters despite potential raw material price volatility?
Indogulf Cropsciences saw Q1FY27 net profit drop 38% YoY to ₹ 24.14 Mn amid an 11% revenue decline. However, gross margins improved to 40.2%, and full-year FY26 results showed robust 27% profit growth. The company is pivoting towards integrated agri-solutions and expanding exports.
Indogulf Cropsciences reported a contraction in profitability during the first quarter of FY27, with net profit falling 38% year-on-year to ₹ 24.14 Mn. Operating revenue declined 11% to ₹ 1,685.45 Mn from ₹ 1,893.72 Mn in Q1FY26, reflecting broader challenges in the agrochemical segment. EBITDA decreased 4% to ₹ 95.55 Mn, while gross profit rose 12% to ₹ 465.78 Mn, indicating some margin resilience despite lower top-line growth.
The company’s full-year performance for FY26 showed stronger momentum, with net profit rising 27% to ₹ 400 Mn and revenue growing 19% to ₹ 7,046 Mn. This contrast between the strong annual close and the soft start to FY27 highlights seasonal or cyclical pressures in the current quarter. Gross margin expanded to 40.2% in Q1FY27 compared to 31.0% in Q1FY26, suggesting improved product mix efficiency even as volume or pricing pressures impacted overall sales.
A notable divergence exists between gross profit growth and net profit decline. While gross profit increased 12% to ₹ 465.78 Mn, operating expenses rose sharply. Employee expenses grew 8% to ₹ 137.13 Mn, and other expenses jumped 22% to ₹ 233.10 Mn. Additionally, finance costs increased 19% to ₹ 45.10 Mn. These rising operational and financial costs offset the gross margin expansion, leading to the 33% drop in profit before tax (PBT) to ₹ 31.55 Mn. Other income contributed ₹ 8.85 Mn, down 5% from the prior year, further limiting bottom-line support.
Indogulf Cropsciences emphasized its shift from standalone products to an integrated agri-solutions platform. In Q1FY27, crop protection accounted for 87% of revenue, while biologicals and plant nutrients each contributed 3%. The remaining 7% came from other segments. The company is focusing on expanding high-margin biologicals and specialty products to improve portfolio quality. Export revenues constituted 13% of total sales, supported by new market entries in Venezuela, Taiwan, and Sri Lanka.
As of FY26, the company’s total equity stood at ₹ 4,593 Mn, up significantly from ₹ 2,753 Mn in FY25. Non-current borrowings decreased to ₹ 30 Mn from ₹ 357 Mn, indicating debt reduction efforts. Current liabilities totaled ₹ 3,476 Mn, while current assets were ₹ 6,648 Mn, providing a comfortable working capital position. Inventories rose to ₹ 3,435 Mn from ₹ 2,700 Mn, potentially reflecting stockpiling for future demand or supply chain adjustments.
Looking ahead, Indogulf plans to deepen farmer engagement through its advisory-led model and expand global presence in Africa, Latin America, and Southeast Asia. The multi-brand strategy via AGPL aims to enhance rural penetration and utilize spare manufacturing capacity. With four manufacturing facilities across Haryana and Jammu & Kashmir, the company is positioning itself for scalable growth despite near-term quarterly pressures.
How will Indogulf Cropsciences manage the rising operational and finance costs that offset gross margin improvements in Q1FY27?
What specific strategies is the company employing to accelerate the revenue contribution of high-margin biologicals and specialty products beyond the current 3%?
Will the significant inventory buildup of ₹3,435 Mn indicate anticipated demand spikes or potential working capital constraints in upcoming quarters?
