Inside Travel has introduced Sri Lanka to its portfolio following growing consumer interest in the destination and the Indian subcontinent.

The group had already mooted its intention to expand into Sri Lanka following plans announced last year to treble the size of its business in the next five years.

The launch, which follows a move into India in 2025, offers seven trips to the new destination, all designed to demonstrate the variety of travel options and culture available in Sri Lanka.

Co-founder and director Alastair Donnelly said: “We are very excited to be able to offer Sri Lanka to the Inside Travel map. With the vastness of India and what that offers, Sri Lanka was the logical next step for development, and we know that our clients want to experience it.

“As a B Corp and a company committed to ‘travel as a force for good’, the team are developing some special experiences and initiatives in keeping with undertourism work that we have been pioneering across some of our other destinations, working with communities to ensure positive impact for both local people and travellers alike.”

Indian subcontinent programme manager Jess Andrews, who has been developing the Sri Lanka programme over the last year, said: “It is a place that has an incredible amount of depth and variety for its size and a place that continues to spark the imagination of travellers. “I believe we as a B Corp tour operator can bring something different to the market with the trips that we offer, through the people we work with.”

Itineraries include a Sri Lanka Uncovered trip which combines better known locations such as tea plantations on the outskirts of Ella with less well known places such as Wilpattu national park on the north coast.

"You can move from tea-covered hills to tropical coastline, from ancient heritage sites to wildlife reserves, all within the same journey. It offers exactly the sort of cultural depth and local connection that our travellers are looking for and that our agents know us for,” said Andrews.

Another itinerary, Wilder Sri Lanka, showcases the destination’s ecosystems, jungles, mountains and ocean across some of its quieter national parks alongside cultural experiences.

The Family Adventure itinerary has been launched in response to rising demand from families while a luxury trip has also been designed, with stays at boutique properties and Sri Lankan experiences such as stay in the Hatton Hill Country.

Andrews noted: “These trips are just tasters of what we can do and a starter for us. There are lots of exciting things to come as we continue to develop the destination and our connections across Sri Lanka.”

Andrews said the group planned to make “further announcements as we close 2026”, adding: “This is just the beginning of plans for Sri Lanka which has so much more to offer.”
