A district cricket club said that they were delighted to announce the return of their international player for next season.
Sri Lankan wicketkeeper and batsman Shalith Fernando has confirmed that he will be back on board for his fourth season with Balderton Cricket Club.
The side plays in the Nottinghamshire Premier League Division Two and Fernando is one of the stand-out players in the competition.
He achieved a top score for the club with the bat in the season just gone as he hit 176 not out in the derby win against Collingham.
Fernando scored 1590 runs for Balderton in the last campaign, scoring 33% of the team's runs.
He has scored 16 centuries in his time at Balderton and 17 half-centuries.
"Shalith coming back next year is great for the club in so many ways," said head coach Andrew Smart.
"It lets the players know we are looking to keep improving on how competitive we are in the division.
"We have several young players that he has worked with over the past year and this can only be good for their development.
"He also helps with the all-star and dynamo mini cricket which is great for the children and parents that someone of that quality is there to help out every week.
"Shalith has become a part of the Balderton cricket family and it is great for players and supporters to have him back."
Fernando will line up in a changed side next season after captain Tim Clipsham confirmed that he would be standing down from the leadership role.
