Pakistan's home international calendar is expected to be played without Karachi as the primary venue, with Karachi to miss hosting tri nation series and Karachi to miss hosting Sri Lanka series becoming the likely outcome while renovation work continues at the city's National Bank Stadium, sources told Geo News. The ongoing redevelopment of the venue has prompted discussions over shifting this season's major fixtures elsewhere. Lahore and Rawalpindi have emerged as the frontrunners to stage the matches, although the Pakistan Cricket Board has yet to formally announce the final venue distribution. Home schedule set for venue reshuffle Sri Lanka are due to visit Pakistan later this year for a two-Test series and a three-match T20I series, both forming part of the 2025-27 ICC World Test Championship cycle . Under the current Future Tours Programme, the T20Is are expected to be held in October before the Test series follows in November. Pakistan are also preparing to host a tri-nation ODI competition featuring England national cricket team and Sri Lanka national cricket team during the same period. The tournament is expected to serve as valuable preparation ahead of future international commitments. Final decision still awaited While Lahore and Rawalpindi remain the preferred options, discussions over venue allocation are continuing. An official schedule, including match venues, is expected only after the PCB completes its planning for the home season. The venue changes come as Pakistan continue their overseas Test commitments. Pakistan national cricket team are currently in the Caribbean for a two-match Test series against the West Indies national cricket team, with the hosts having won the opening Test. The second match is scheduled to begin on Sunday. After completing the West Indies tour, Pakistan will head to England for a three-match Test series. The campaign begins at Headingley before moving to Lord's Cricket Ground and concluding at Edgbaston Cricket Ground in September. With Pakistan's home schedule approaching, confirmation of the venues is expected in the coming weeks as preparations enter their final stage.
