Keells is marking 35 years of supermarket operations in Sri Lanka, with the retailer reporting that its network has grown beyond 150 outlets.
The anniversary announcement focuses on the company’s relationships with customers, employees and suppliers, including farmers who provide fresh produce to its stores.
Over the period, Keells has expanded its supermarket network and introduced changes to store formats, product ranges and digital services. The company links those developments to changing shopping habits and household needs.
Freshness, convenience and customer trust are central themes of its anniversary campaign. The retailer has also highlighted the role of employees and suppliers in maintaining its day-to-day operations.
Its fresh-food supply chain connects producers with distribution facilities and individual stores. Those relationships support the sourcing, transport and sale of produce across the supermarket network.
The anniversary comes as grocery retailers compete through location, pricing, product availability, customer service and digital ordering options. Keells’ growing network has extended its presence to more communities than at the beginning of its operations.
The company is using the milestone to reflect on its development and recognise the people involved in its retail business. Anniversary activity will continue across its stores and customer channels.
