Linda Mayne — Obituary Larkin Mortuary

Due to a sudden onset of symptoms, Linda cancelled a long anticipated adventure to Sri Lanka. Sadly, less than a month later, her family and countless friends are grieving the death of this Salt Lake City native. Daughter of Bill and Clara Mayne, Linda was known for her wit, intellect, curiosity, loyalty, authenticity, and integrity.

Throughout her 33 years at Olympus High School, Linda was committed to educating, coaching, mentoring, and inspiring thousands of students--many who credit her as the \"Greatest Single Influence\" in their lives. After a brief retirement, Linda did the same for teachers statewide as the Health, Physical Education, and Drivers Education Specialist for the Utah State Board of Education.

Often described as a renaissance woman, Linda loved spending leisure time bird watching, star gazing and rock licking! Having fun with friends and family--whether playing the ukulele, chasing golf balls, attending cultural events, riding bikes, watching \"her Cowboys,\" discussing books, camping in P Floyd, or sharing a good meal--were among her many passions. Linda enriched the lives of many, above all, that of her wife Tika, who is grateful beyond measure for all they shared, her loving sisters Eileen Mears and Judie Kesson, brother Ken Mayne, and adoring nieces and nephews.

If you are among the lucky ones who benefited from knowing Linda, please join the family to Celebrate Linda\s Life and Legacy on Sunday, January 15, 2017, 1-3 pm, at the Jewish Community Center (2 North Medical Drive). The family invites you to continue Linda\s support of the Clark Planetarium, ACLU of Utah/LGBT Rights, or Cancer Wellness House with a donation in her name.
