Several liquor manufacturers have reportedly increased the prices of alcoholic beverages following the recent fuel price hike.
According to reports, the increases come after the removal of price controls on alcoholic beverages, allowing manufacturers to determine retail prices.
Accordingly, the price of a 750 ml bottle of Special Arrack has reportedly been increased by Rs. 20, while a 375 ml bottle now costs Rs. 10 more.
The price of a 750 ml bottle of Old Arrack has also reportedly been increased by Rs. 50.
In addition, the prices of whisky and brandy have reportedly risen by Rs. 100 per bottle.
Reports further state that the same manufacturers increased the prices of several other liquor products around a month ago.
