A new train service has been introduced from today (Oct. 12) for schoolchildren and other passengers travelling between Polgahawela and Peradeniya.
According to Sri Lanka Railways (SLR), the new service is being introduced following the resumption of train operations between Rambukkana - Gampola on the Upcountry Railway Line on Oct. 02, after services were disrupted by Cyclone Ditwah. Train services along this section are now operating as usual, SLR adds.
Accordingly, the new service is to be operated daily from today to facilitate schoolchildren and other passengers travelling between Polgahawela and Peradeniya.
