One person died in a mishap that occurred due to the brake failure of a bus in the Nuwara Eliya–Haggala area.
The mishap occurred due to a collision with a bus travelling from Haggala to Welimada.
Police stated that a 46-year-old resident of the Ratnapura area died in this mishap.
