Pakistan yesterday ensured Sri Lanka entered the final of their cricket Triangular series when they fell like nine pins cheaply for a total of 110 that none other than a handful would have expected in their qualifying round match which they eventually lost at Lahore yesterday.
The result renders Thursday’s final qualifying round match between Sri Lanka and England a virtual dead contest with Sri Lanka having two wins and England nothing to go by.
Pakistan’s innings ended inside 26 overs also raising more questions on what happened to their batting in a sport that has much to explain these days. Pakistan and Sri Lanka have also been very supportive over the years when it comes to cricket matters.
Sri Lanka won the toss and put Pakistan in to bat first and Madushanka had a rollicking time capturing five wickets as Pakistan’s two century makers in the series Salman Ali Agha and Shadab Khan flopped with the bat.
Sri Lanka had probably the easiest of wins ever against Pakistan reaching the 111 target in 18.1 overs.
Pakistan and Sri Lanka will meet in the final on Saturday at the same venue.
