Prawn lovers, we have found your festive dining plans in the capital. ISSO Prawn Crazy, the new Sri Lankan restaurant in Canary Wharf, is serving three Christmas menus packed with seafood, curries and traditional island flavours. Book a festive meal and you could also win a holiday to Sri Lanka for two in 2027.
Available from November 15 to December 23, the menus are designed for everything from team lunches to celebratory dinners. They each bring a taste of ISSO’s Sri Lankan cooking, including its signature freshwater prawns, sourced directly from fishing communities in Sri Lanka.
The £49-per-person Coastal Christmas Menu is the more relaxed option, with sharing starters such as crispy lentil patties topped with wild-caught prawns and tamarind glaze. For mains, choose from Jaffna Wild Prawn Curry, Jaggery Beef Curry or Jackfruit and Pineapple Curry, followed by wattalapam, a spiced coconut milk and jaggery custard.
For a bigger festive spread, the £79 Festive Feast Menu begins with prosecco and sharing plates including devilled jumbo prawns and hot butter cuttlefish. Colossal freshwater prawns and spiced roast lamb shank are among the main course choices, while Sri Lankan Christmas cake with Arrack cream rounds things off.
The £199 Royal Odyssey Menu is the restaurant’s most extravagant offering. It includes a glass of Brut Royal Champagne, a flight of sambols and chutneys, and a choice of grilled colossal freshwater prawns or whole Ceylon spice lobster , served family-style with unlimited sides.
Plus, there’s an extra reason to book: guests dining on any of the festive menus between 15 November and 23 December will be entered for the chance to win a holiday to Sri Lanka for two in 2027. So, if your Christmas plans could use a little more spice, ISSO Prawn Crazy has a table with your name on it.
