Sahibzada Farhan led Pakistan in a three-match T20I series against Sri Lanka and helped them secure a 2-1 series win. Under Farhan’s leadership, Pakistan crushed the visitors in the first two 20-over matches at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium before suffering a humiliating eight-wicket defeat in the third match on Tuesday (October 13). In the home series against Sri Lanka, Farhan opened the innings for the Men in Green in all three matches and scored a half-century in each one. He scored 89 runs off 53 balls in the series opener and followed it up with knocks of 73 and 76 in the next two matches. Farhan finished his maiden series as Pakistan’s full-time T20I captain with a total of 238 runs and it also helped him break Abhishek Sharma’s record for the most runs by a player from a full-member nation in a three-match T20I series.
