Sanju Samson failed to score any run in the Sri Lanka series, for the second game running. The Rajasthan Royals skipper, who was backed by the fans for his supreme performance in IPL 2024, has had some nervy days recently.
The 29-year-old was a part of India's 15-man squad for the World Cup 2024. However, Samson did not feature even once at the ICC event. The fans have slammed the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for the lack of opportunities given to Sanju Samson.
Listening to fans' grievances, BCCI rewarded Sanju Samson with call-ups for the Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka T20I series, right after the World Cup. In the ongoing T20I series against Sri Lanka, Samson was handed two chances by the newly-appointed head coach, Gautam Gambhir.
However, Samson failed to score a single run in either game, getting dismissed for a golden duck in the second game, before being knocked for a four-ball duck in the final game.
The fans, who had his back all this while, have turned their backs on the experienced campaigner, losing their patience with the Kerala-born cricketer.

Fans have compared the likes of Sanju Samson to Rajat Patidar. Patidar was dropped after a few poor performances for Team India. Sanju, on the other hand, has now been given ample chances by the BCCI, in the eyes of fans.
