Former Deputy Minister Sarana Gunawardena, who is currently being held in remand custody, has reportedly been assigned office-cleaning duties at Welikada Prison.
According to reports, Gunawardena has been engaged in cleaning and maintenance work at several facilities within the prison premises, including the library and records office.
He is also said to be maintaining cordial relations with both prison officials and fellow inmates during his time in custody.
