Sim Choo Kheng 's Sim Leisure Group has provided design, fabrication and construction to more than 300 themed entertainment projects around the world. The company owns and operates an adventure park in Malaysia called Escape Penang. The attraction is home to climbing zones, obstacle courses, zip lines and waterslides in a natural setting.

Sim Leisure Group also runs Escape Challenge in Petaling Jaya, which opened in 2020. In 2022, Escape Penang launched the world’s longest zip coaster, with the 1,135-metre ride breaking a Guinness World Record. The new zip coaster joined the world’s longest waterslide at Escape Penang, making it the only attraction in Malaysia to hold two Guinness World Records.

“We at the Sim Leisure Group strongly believe that we have something truly special in the Escape brand that distinctly differentiates itself from other themed attractions,” said Sim. “Using a ‘low tech, high fun’ approach, our goal is to create an all-new experience for visitors where success and fun is measured in ‘smiles per hour’, as we like to say here.”

The company is taking its Escape brand to Sri Lankaand developing the largest Escape theme park in Malaysia, called Escape Cameron Highlands . “I see tremendous opportunity in the Sri Lankan market with its population of over 20 million,” said Sim. “Sri Lanka is one of few countries which is unspoilt and green.”

“The country’s unpolluted coastline and beaches bring tourists from all over the world and its tourism industry is growing at an incredible pace. Furthermore, the cost of doing business in Sri Lanka is relatively low," he added. “We see this as a great opportunity to train the local population in our operations for future global expansion. We will be generating 'smiles per hour' never seen before in Sri Lanka.”

Sim has devoted 31 years of his life to the leisure industry. As an external contractor, Sim Leisure has worked for names such as Resorts World Singapore, Dubai Parks and Resorts, Global Village, Ferrari World Au Dhabi, Legoland and many more.
