The Supreme Court has orally remarked that Indian Tamil fishermen should be sensitised against entering Sri Lanka’s territorial waters while fishing near Katchatheevu island. The observation came during a hearing on October 6, with the Attorney General telling the Court that depleted fish stocks on the Tamil Nadu side were prompting some fishermen to venture into Sri Lankan waters. The issue is closely linked to the long-running concerns over Indian fishermen crossing the maritime boundary near Katchatheevu and the resulting tensions between India and Sri Lanka. n18oc_breaking-newsn18oc_indiaNews18 Mobile App - https://onelink.to/desc-youtube
