India’s vice-captain KL Rahul and Yashasvi Jaiswal were spotted training in Mumbai on 3rd August, around 24 hours before Team India’s departure for Sri Lanka. The Indian openers were seen training at Wings Sports Centre in Bandra West, a multi-sport facility with a specialized cricket nets managed by former India cricketer Jatin Paranjape. Tanush Kotian was among the few bowlers who bowled to Jaiswal and Rahul during the practice session.
"They've been coming here regularly over the past few days. Jaiswal was here two days ago, KL came yesterday, and today they trained together. It's not surprising that they were practising against spin, given the conditions they expect to encounter in the series,” Paranjape told Cricbuzz.
Team India will play a three-day practice game ahead of the two-match Test series in Sri Lanka starting on August 15. The three-day practice match will played in Colombo from August 7 to August 9.
