India and Sri Lanka will lock horns in the final of the Women’s Asia Cup 2026 at the Dubai International Stadium on Sunday.

Both teams have had similar paths to the summit clash, having been unbeaten so far. India defeated Bangladesh in semifinal 1 while Sri Lanka got the better of Pakistan in semifinal 2.

The last time the two sides faced off against each other at the Women’s Asia Cup was also in the final, of the 2024 edition.

In that match, it was Sri Lanka that came out on top, winning by eight wickets to clinch its first Women’s Asia Cup title.

India, batting first, posted a total of 165/6. Smriti Mandhana top-scored for the Women in Blue with 60 off 47 balls, while Jemimah Rodrigues (29 off 16 balls) and Richa Ghosh (30 off 14 balls) played handy cameos.

In reply, Chamari Athapaththu’s side chased down the target without breaking a sweat. Athapaththu herself led from the front with a 61 off 43 balls, before Harshitha Samarawickrama (69* off 51 balls) Kavisha Dilhari (30* off 14 balls) wrapped up the proceedings with eight wickets and eight balls to spare.
