World Vision operates as a global Partnership of nearly 100 national entities, united by a shared Christian mission, vision, and core values.

World Vision Lanka is an integral part of this Partnership and is signatory to the World Vision International Covenant of Partnership, through which common policies, standards, and accountability frameworks are upheld and contextualized within the national environment.

Regardless of size, each national office has a voice within the Partnership. While part of the global Partnership, World Vision Lanka is a distinct legal entity governed by a local Board of Directors. The Board provides strategic oversight, ensures sound governance, and maintains effective risk management systems.

Robust internal accountability mechanisms are embedded at both country and programme levels. Each office undergoes three major internal reviews within a fiveyear cycle, combining self-assessment and independent peer evaluation. A Peer Review specifically assesses governance effectiveness, Board alignment, and adherence to Partnership standards.

In its most recent Peer Review, World Vision Lanka received an overall rating of “Meets Standards” (the highest category) affirming the strength of its governance, leadership, and management practices.

Additionally, Programme Capability Reviews assess strategic alignment and programming effectiveness, while the Global Assurance and Advisory team provides independent, risk-based assurance on governance, financial controls, and operational processes.

During the reporting year FY25, World Vision Lanka completed operational, financial, and programme reviews, receiving satisfactory ratings across all assessments.
