Aamir Khan @ 60: Juhi Chawla, Sonali Bendre, Pooja Bedi And Other Celebs Pick Lagaan Actors Best Films, - Free Press Journal

Aamir Khan will hit the landmark age of 60 on March 14, 2025. His stardom spans several decades, even though in the 41 years since his first film Holi, the selective star has had only 44 releases. This includes blockbusters like Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak and Dangal as well as the trendsetters like Lagaan and Dil Chahta Hai. He has also romanced two generations of leading ladies in chartbusters, starting from the youth anthem, Papa kehte hain. We ask a myriad set of film folk from the full-of-beans Juhi Chawla to reticent composer Tanishk Bagchi to pick and choose Aamir’s best... three each of his most outstanding films and songs and the three heroines who suit him the most.Juhi Chawla, Actor3 Best FilmsInitially, I didn’t think much of Aamir as an actor. But, later, my respect for him grew tenfold... I was almost like a fan. I love many films of his — not just three of the films we did together (Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak for many reasons, Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke and Ishq) but also Andaz Apna Apna, which is my all-time favourite. When I saw Lagaan, I was like ‘Wow Aamir, what a film!’ I admired the way he transformed himself 200% in Dangal and PK.3 Best SongsFor songs, I will be partial to myself and pick Aye mere humsafar from Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak and Yunhi kat jaayega safar from Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke, which were really nice. I also love his songs from Lagaan and Andaz Apna Apna, particularly Eelo ji sanam hum aa gaye from the latter in which he is serenading Raveena while doing some hilarious comedy.3 leading ladies who suited him most JuhiJuhiJuhi (chortles)Sonali Bendre, Actor3 Best Films Qayamat Se Qayamat TakSarfaroshDangalPooja Bedi, Actor3 Best Films Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar Ghajini3 Idiots 3 Best Songs Pehla nasha (Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar) Dil chahta hai (Dil Chahta Hai) Chand sifarish (Fanaa)3 Leading Ladies Who Suited Him mostJuhi ChawlaKareena Kapoor KhanMadhuri DixitShankar Mahadevan, Musician3 Best Films Dil Chahta Hai Lagaan Dangal 3 Best SongsDil chahta hai (Dil chahta hai) Maa (Taare Zameen Par) Pehla nasha (Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar) 3 Leading Ladies Who Suited Him most Preity Zinta Sonali Bendre Juhi ChawlaTanishk Bagchi, Musician 3 Best Films Lagaan is a cinematic masterpiece that redefined Indian period dramas and made history with its Oscar nomination.Taare Zameen Par is a heartfelt film that showcased Aamir’s brilliance as both an actor and director.Dangal is a powerful sports biopic where Aamir transformed himself into Mahavir Singh Phogat, delivering one of his finest performances.3 Best SongsPehla nasha (Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar) is the ultimate romantic anthem of the ’90s.Ae mere humsafar (Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak) is a timeless melody that defined young love.Mitwa (Lagaan) is soulful and deeply rooted in the spirit of hope and resilience.3 Leading Ladies Who Suited Him mostJuhi Chawla — their chemistry in Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak and Ishq remains evergreen.Kareena Kapoor Khan — they shine together in 3 Idiots and Talaash, with a natural on-screen connection.Rani Mukerji — from Ghulam to Talaash, they are intense and memorable.Darshan Kumaar, Actor 3 Best Films I love most of Aamir’s performances, but since I have to select, here are the three best options:Dangal Lagaan3 Idiots 3 Best Songs Pehla nasha (Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar) Aati kya Khandala (Ghulam) Dil Chahta Hai (Dil Chahta Hai )3 Leading Ladies Who Suited Him most Madhuri DixitJuhi ChawlaRani Mukerji Priya Bapat, Actor3 Best FilmsI can’t choose only three:Andaz Apna ApnaLagaanJo Jeeta Wohi SikandarSarfarosh3 IdiotsDangal3 Best SongsPehla nasha (Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar) Aankhon Se Tune Kya Keh Diya (Ghulam)Tere hawaale (Laal Singh Chaddha)3 Leading Ladies Who Suited Him BestRani MukerjiMadhuri DixitKareena Kapoor KhanSonali Kulkarni, Actor3 Best Films (I cant choose just 3!)Dil Chahta Hai3 IdiotsLagaanTaare Zameen ParDangalTalaashRangeela3 Best Songs (I can't choose just 3)Behti hawa (3 Idiots) Jaane kyun (Dil Chahta Hai)Mitwa (Lagaan) Zoobi Doobi (3 Idiots) Kaise mujhe tum mil gaye (Ghajini)3 Leading Ladies Who Suited Him MostKareena Kapoor KhanPreity Zinta Juhi Chawla Tisca Chopra, Actor3 Best Films Most of Aamir’s work is fabulous.
