Cadets training for the upcoming India-Sri Lanka National Cadet Corps Cycling Expedition 2027 .

Setting the stage for a cross-border journey, the joint training phase for the upcoming India-Sri Lanka National Cadet Corps (NCC) Cycling Expedition 2027 officially commenced at Vallikavu, near Karunagappally, on Tuesday.

The 13-day joint training initiative scheduled from November 1 to 13 is designed to prepare the combined contingent for an arduous journey while fostering international cooperation, discipline, and camaraderie among the youth representatives of both countries.

The international expeditionary team comprises select NCC cadet cyclists and support staff members from both India and Sri Lanka. An 11-member delegation from Sri Lanka—consisting of Sri Lankan NCC cadet cyclists alongside their official staff arrived at the Vallikavu training base on November 1. Joining them is the host Indian contingent, which features 14 NCC cadet cyclists supported by a 10-member technical and logistical team. The overall execution, operational control, and logistics of this joint training phase are being directed under the aegis of the NCC Directorate (Kerala and Lakshadweep), working in close coordination with the NCC Group Headquarters, Kollam.

Upon successfully concluding their rigorous 13-day preparatory schedule in Kollam, the joint contingent is slated to depart for Sri Lanka on November 13, ahead of the official launch of the expedition on November 15. The historic cycling rally will traverse a distance of nearly 3,500 km, embarking from Colombo, Sri Lanka, and concluding in New Delhi. The international expedition will culminate at the national capital, where the cadet cyclists will be officially flagged in by the Prime Minister during the NCC Prime Minister’s Rally in January 2027.
