Litro Gas yesterday said it will speedily sort out a cooking gas shortage caused by shipment delays.
Litro Chairman Channa Gunawardena told the Sunday Times the company imported an extra shipment of LP gas yesterday as a measure to sort out the shortage.
He said the shortage was due to a two-day delay of a gas shipment last week. However a shipment arrived on Thursday and another shipment is scheduled to reach the country tomorrow. The company had also ordered an additional shipment to ensure sufficient stocks. That had arrived in Colombo yesterday.
The Litro Gas daily demand had increased from September 2 this year as competitor, Laugfs Gas, was also experiencing a shortage. Laugfs was not available for comment.
